So I stand it up, in the beaker that came with it, in a cabinet. I have used my "boat motor" 3 times so far, each time to blend soups. This is another winner from KitchenAid - small kitchen appliances that do the job and do it very well.I gave a "star rating" of 5, due to the quality, power, and ability to do the task. I could stash it in a drawer, but I have no available drawer space. All in all, a wonderful product. My favorite "immersion blender trick" is to fill the container (included) half full of water, set the blender on the lowest speed, immerse in the jar, and turn it on.
First, what can I do with the cord other than wrap it around the body. It does the job very well and does it very quickly. Every time I reach into the cabinet I hit the motor or power cord and the blender tips over onto the floor. You can lift the blender and the vaccuum created will lift the container and keep it stuck to the bottom of the blender. Lots of power.Being my first immersion blender, maybe it is going to take me some time to adjust to it, but my two unanswered issues are both with storage. And when put away, how do I keep it from falling over.
I just can't come up with a storage solution that works for me.
I did a bit of research prior to purchasing the KHB100 hand blender by KitchenAid. And, unlike some reviewers, I have zero issues with the power button. Considering hand blenders in this price range, this model has received excellent reviews on a multitude of sites (Amazon included). The KHB100 (exactly the same as the 300 model sans all of the attachments) arrived quickly and was packaged rather well. The adjustable blade speed (fast to super-sonic speed) knob is a nice addition; many models are either on or off. If you grip the mixer around the body, three fingers rest on the button and it takes little effort to power the machine. The KHB100 is also a few inches longer than similarly priced competitors.
I went through two other blenders before I got this one. The curvy blade cage is great because it keeps it from suctioning to the bottom of a pot or bowl. It's awesome. It's powerful, super sturdy, and blends in seconds. Price is good for the quality. I can't imagine needing more than this.
great product. We killed our Oster version about 6mos ago. This is a very powerful blender, we love it.
We're hoping Kitchenaid addresses this issue in subsequent models. By the time we noticed it, food had dried was stuck about 1/4" up the shaft.
The first one died too early, but we liked using it so much for our morning smoothies that we bought another. This one is working ok, but like other reviewers stated, the rubber seal came loose and trapped food.
This is our second hand held blender. The seal was just loose enough to trap food, and not noticeable at first.
The seal is not removable because of the blades. Food gets in the shaft and is next-to-impossible to clean.
We still use it, but it requires tedious methods to clean and keep sanitary. It's a great blender, but buyer beware.
